Tulip wood/MDF kitchen painting Hampshire
Just finished a lovely new kitchen down in Hampshire. The kitchen was made from Tulipwood and MDF and was supplied bare.To carry out the work we used the following method.
Units were cleaned down and lightly sanded. They were then given a coat of Zinsser cover stain, which was thinned and a small amount of Owatrol oil was added to help get a super smooth finish.
Once dry all the units were then sanded down with a Mirka Handy sanding block and Abranet paper, which is connected to a hoover ensures that 90% of all dust is collected leaving the units and kitchen clean and ready for the second coat of primer.
Once again, after the primer was fully dry the units was sanded down to a smooth finish this time using a 400-grade paper.
The finish for the units was an oil-based eggshell, taken from the Little Green range, which with a little amount of Owatrol oil added, gives a very hard-wearing and traditional finish.
Below are before and after photos taken throughout the week.
